Benefits of Using Alternative & Green Energy Sources

Whenever people are talking about ways on how to save energy, one of the useful ideas that experts have already tested and tried is the use of alternative & green energy sources. There are various sources of energy that can be used by anyone especially those who need a large amount of energy without the risk of spending too much money on other resources. These ideas were not only made for those who are trying to cut back on their energy expenses but also for those people who are trying to make use of alternative sources that are environment friendly.

Sustainability in Contemporaneous Lifestyle

Built on a thickly forested site at Alibaug, this weekend home is an exemplary model of sustainable living right from the choice of vernacular architecture and materiality to water harvesting and site treatment. In fact, only exposed patches on the site were chosen for construction thereby minimizing intervention to the natural topography. As a corollary, the design of this residence is fragmented in and around the 2.3 acre site interconnected (for privacy) through a series of courts and multiple water bodies.

UNEP Supports First Ever Round-The-World Solar Flight

"Solar Impulse brings global attention to the enormous potential of renewable energy and clean technologies in shaping a future where innovation and pioneering ideas thrive, while supporting a healthy planet." UN Under-Secretary-General and UNEP Exexcutive Director Achim Steiner

Abu Dhabi, March 9, 2015 - Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg, of Solar Impulse, today launched the first-ever attempted flight around the world using only solar power as they simultaneously embark on a new partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). In the footsteps of the great aeronautical firsts, Solar Impulse intends to achieve the first round-the-world solar flight to demonstrate how existing clean technologies and a pioneering spirit can change the world.

The attempt comes following 12 years of research, tests and development. Using only solar energy and clean technology, the Swiss-born duo, who are ardent advocates for a clean future, will take turns flying the single-seater aircraft, starting from Abu Dhabi for the first of 12 flights spread over a period of five months.
